What a great start for the Weston High School Math Team! In our first Massachusetts Math League meet of the year, our goal was a simple one: to beat Canton. Simple, but definitely not easy, as it almost never happens.
And beat Canton we did, with 162 points for Weston and 154 for Canton. Although we are a medium-sized school, we even beat some of the large schools, such as Concord-Carlisle (76 points), Lincoln-Sudbury (105), and Winchester (157).
This was very much a team effort, with an astonishing ten students earning virtual medals:
- Scoring 14 points each were senior co-captain Kenz Kallal, senior co-captain Steven Wang, senior Zixuan Huang, and freshman Alex Ding.
- Scoring 16 points each were sophomore Sasha Shashkov, freshman David Huang, and freshman Adi Saligrama.
- And scoring 18 points each (a perfect score) were three freshmen: Ezra Gordon, Josh Li, and Andrew Yao.
Well-deserved congratulations to all!
