Now with more local competition, Just Thai Kitchen is even better and has a greatly enlarged menu. No way to try everything! Barbara and I decided to get delivery from there last night.
We chose three old favorites and two new items (new to us, at least):
- Tom yum soup: hot and sour soup with shrimp, lemongrass, lime juice, tomato, mushroom, scallion, cilantro (an old reliable that I order from any Thai restaurant I go to).
- Crispy veggie spring rolls, served with sweet sauce (not very exciting, but still delicious).
- JTK wings glazed with sweet JTK sauce, topped with ground peanuts and scallion (always a standout, the Platonic ideal of fried chicken wings).
- Crispy fried tofu (boring…yes, I know, I know…it’s tofu).
- The star of the show: (very) spicy black-bean garlic udon, stir-fried with bok choy, bell pepper, onion, scallion, and crispy fried shallots in spicy and garlicky black-bean sauce (yum, yum, five stars for this one…when they say it’s spicy they mean it).
