Where do you go for that special occasion?

It used to be easy. We always went to the Ashmont Grill.

Sadly, the Grill is no more. Happily, there is Tavolo. Same owner, same manager, some of the same staff. So we went to Tavolo for our special occasion (year #42). We were treated even better than anyone could expect. Service was super-attentive and indulgent, even though it turned out that we happened to have reserved a table for a time when there was a special event going on; we had a nice quiet booth until 50 people arrived for wine and pizza in the same room! But that didn’t stop the staff from being extra-solicitous toward us.

We started by sharing a kale Caesar salad without kale (yes, I know…). Then Barbara had the pasta carbonara (speaking of indulgent), and I had always-excellent rib-eye steak with smashed potatoes and broccolini. We had to take some of both entrées home, in order to leave room for dessert: flourless chocolate cake for Barbara, one scoop of chocolate strawberry sorbet for me.

A memorable…what was it?…42nd something. OK, so the answer is 42, and your task is to figure out the question. (We’ll pretend it’s Jeopardy.) Curiously, there will be more info about the number 42 in my next post.
