The Pearl, a well-named restaurant

On our way home from yet another doctor’s appointment (they come far too often, don’t they, when you’re getting close to 80), Barbara suggested stopping for lunch at The Pearl. She had to twist my arm, but I finally agreed to do so. It took me at least ten seconds to agree.

For those who don’t know, The Pearl is a first-rate seafood restaurant in the new part of South Bay. We were able to sit outside on their small patio. And yes, they do have outdoor heaters, though today was warm enough that we didn’t need them.

Service was warm too, even if some guests wanted it to be snappier. Tell them to relax and enjoy their meals! The food was outstanding.

Looking at the photos, you will see the following in random order (sorry about that, but WordPress scrambles the order to fit its own aesthetics):

  • the tenderest calamari that I’ve ever had
  • grilled oysters (for Barbara)
  • bang bang shrimp (for me — a new experience, delicious and spicy)
  • a huge sign across the street from The Pearl (to make you feel at home in case you think you’re in JP, not Dot)
