dBar

Lovely anniversary dinner yesterday out on the patio at dBar! (Zeus must have approved, because it stopped raining just before we got there, and it didn’t pick up again until we got home.)

It was hard to know what to select from the many scrumptious-sounding items on the menu. Barbara chose to start with the lump crab cake, accompanied by mashed potato, remoulade, avocado, frisée, and grapefruit. She followed with marinated grilled steak tips, described as “Choice Certified Angus Beef, Mashed Potato, Broccoli, Piquillo Bbq Sauce.”

I started with the crispy scallion pancake with a spicy dipping sauce, and then for my entrée I had a burger with all the fixins, which came rare as ordered; the accompanying fries were crisp, hot, and delicious. [Linguistic question: why do I call the scallion pancake crispy but the fries crisp? Inquiring minds want to know.]

No room for dessert.

Service was excellent: attentive without ever being hovering.
