Twice in the same month?

But Barbara and I had just gone to Tavolo last week! So, you ask, why did we have to go there again yesterday?

Because it was Buck-a-Shuck, of course!

Starters were easy. We shared a kale-Caesar-salad-without-kale (which came pre-split by the kitchen into two large half-salads), accompanied by the usual rosemary focaccia:

Then Barbara had a dozen Martha’s Vineyard oysters with lots of lemons:

And I had grilled flatiron steak with charred spring onion, roasted fingerling potatoes, and Calabrian chili-ramp butter, cooked rare as ordered (of course):

Meanwhile, Barbara needed to have six more oysters, as if a dozen wasn’t enough. So she didn’t have room for dessert, but I managed an affogato, consisting of a scoop of espresso gelato with a double espresso on the side to pour over the gelato:

Needless to say, everything was delicious.
