Cassie perched precariously

Cats, of course, are notorious for having a good sense of balance. That they do, but physics can sometimes have other ideas in mind. So here’s Cassie relaxing on top of a book, which was unstably balanced on top of a small box:

I warned her that it was unstable, but did she listen? No.

About a minute after I shot that photo, she shifted her balance a little, and down came half a dozen books and Cassie and all!

By the way, if you’re wondering why she is wearing a collar when she is 100% an indoor cat, it’s because it’s otherwise very hard to tell at a glance which cat this is. When she’s with her brother, it’s easy to distinguish them because Barnaby is significantly larger. But one cat alone provides no sense of scale.
