First math meet of the year

Yesterday was the first meet of the year in the Massachusetts Math League. Although we had lost our two stars from the past four years (they unaccountably graduated and left us), we really did very well. I was also pleased that we had a strong turnout with a deep bench: this year there are 28 on the team, of whom 23 showed up (though three had to leave early, so only 20 could actually participate).

Special congratulations are due to high-scorer Kyle Chow, a sophomore, who earned an impressive 16 points, and to the following runners-up, each of whom earned an excellent 14 points: freshman Andrew Li, junior Daniel Rigobon, junior Pravina Samaratunga, and senior Andy Yee! Stay tuned for our next meet on November 1.
