No, I’m not talking about Tom Lehrer’s famous song, “The Elements,” nor about n–2 others of the parodies of Gilbert & Sullivan’s Major General’s song, where must be a large number. I’m talking about “I Am the very Model of a Biblical Philologist,” which is hilarious (to a certain highly select audience, which apparently includes me).

Your homework for tonight is to watch and listen twice to this short video, and then go learn about all the references that are Greek to you.

Oops, inappropriate metaphor — I guess I should say all the references that are opaque to you. Hint: it all actually makes sense.
