A great article in The Spectator teaches us the history of language in Ukraine in the context of the rest of the history of the country.
Author Norman Davies is remarkably thorough and thankfully straightforward, teaching us a lot in few words. I certainly learned a great deal, as the material in most of the article had been previously unfamiliar to me.
So I recommend reading the article, which won’t take you a long time. We all need to learn more about Ukraine these days.
