We need a respite from xenophobia.

Our xenophobic president is about to be acquitted of the high crimes and misdemeanors that he committed. His “alleged” actions have been proved, even according to Mitch McConnell’s good friend Senator Lamar Alexander (R, TN), who voted against additional witnesses and will vote against removal from office.

We can’t do anything about the acquittal and the corruption, but at least we can get a respite from the xenophobia: yesterday I needed to listen to the moving international excerpts from the great musical Les Miserables sung seriatim by 17 different singers from the performances in 17 different countries (link below).

I listened three times.

It’s just a respite, as I say, but it helps:
