Lacking Halloween spirit, Barbara and I escaped by taking her sister Brenda to the Fox and Hound for a long, leisurely dinner — not only long and leisurely but also a truly excellent feast, as it turned out!
Wedge salad, onion rings, lollipop lamb chops, mac and cheese, oysters Rockefeller, crispy duck, skillet-fried crab cakes, mixed berry tart à la mode, hot caramel sundae — it’s no wonder that we had a large tote bag of leftovers to take home. The mac and cheese alone would have easily fed three. Every single item was of high quality and properly prepared. To top it off, our server, Alex M, was also perfect: friendly, professional, and attentive without ever hovering.
Much better than handing out candy to a bunch of ungrateful teenagers who didn’t even bother to wear costumes.
